Angels Walk

Remembering our past, protecting their futures. ALWAYS

Well hello and welcome,

I'm still here,

I'm still doing crazy things,

and challenging myself to be the best I can be,

last year unfortunately was a very traumatic and sad year for me as not only did I lose my Mother in law Joyce as we begun the year but my own Mum in the August, this all had a marked impact on my life, and I am now even more determined to experience life inside and outside my comfort zone.

So putting last year behind me, this year I am re-visiting two of my favorite events with Hope 24 in May (planning on bettering my 35 mile total) and the beautiful multi activity Lakeside event around the calming waters of Lake Conniston in June, both events this year I am very proud to say that I am being joined by my eldest son Andrew, who only took up running earlier this year.

Plus I still have my Amazon Survival challenge to complete in September, (www.charitychallenge.com/challenge/183/Amazon-Jungle-Survivor-Challenge) its been over a year already since I signed up for that one, so really looking forward to see how I cope with not only the large number and size of the creepy crawlies, but a whole week with little or no modern amenities while sleeping in a hammock !

I do hope you enjoy following my adventures and feel able to support my continued fundraising.

Note: from April this year all my fundraising goes towards supporting the Speak Out Stay Safe service in Sussex (more information here: www.nspcc.org.uk/services-and-resources/working-with-schools/speak-out-stay-safe-service) as I truly belief that the only way we can tackle the main problems facing our youngsters is through education and awareness once they are at school, and as a previously trained volunteer in the service, I would recommend every parent of a Primary school aged child to ask their school to take part, after all its free and provides the children with many life skills as well as being fun

KILIMANJARO HERE I COME !!

On the 12th February 2015 I am heading out to climb all 19,341 feet (5895 metres) of the highest free-standing mountain in the world, and the tallest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro.

It will take me 7 full days (5 to climb up and 2 to come down) in temperatures ranging from plus 35 as I begin the ascent to possibly minus 30 degrees on summit night !

I will be camping along the whole route and really roughing it, as there are no washing facilities or proper toilets till I get back to the lodge.

Please donate whatever you can to help support the wonderful work the NSPCC does.

Well I've just had an exceedingly busy week volunteering for some of my favourite people and during my travels people have either been inspired by me rabbiting on about the joys of walking, or have seen my door signs on my car, so might not be International status yet but the Angels Walk is now beginning to Spread between Hove and Seaford, how proud am I :)

We're up and running

Date sorted, route sorted, printing sent off, Event page created, Ooo I've got a headache lol :)
